Unfortunately, kickback is not just for amateurs, although that certainly is the cause of a lot of kickbacks. Wood has a mind of it’s own and can pinch the back of the blade because of drying tensions. The Grip-Tite has much more downward pressure than a human hand, and an anti-kickback spring which replace fingers behind the blade. The small piece kickbacks are easily stopped by using the second Grip-Tite anti-kickback spring after the blade.
That’s really cool. Although, this product is probably designed for amateurs. My theory on kick backs is that you get them when your inexperienced and stupid. Anybody who has been using a table saw for a long time like this guy has, knows that you would never put yourself in the situation of having a kickback.
