this is used to drill a pilot hole for a screw

d bit

if you wanted a light and dark wood contrast, i could see
a white oak and maple

if i needed to cross cut a piece of wood i would use

if i needed to prepare the edge of a piece of wood for the table saw, i would use what machine?

for sanding inside radii i would use which machine
a drum sander
b spindle sander

for sanding outside radii i would use which machine
a drum sander
b spindle sander
c rotary sandeer
