End Grain Galore

End Grain Galore

Here’s my collection of end grain cutting board I made for Christmas gifts. Thanks to The Wood Whisperer for the great instructional videos. All but one is made from purpleheart and maple, whereas the last is from walnut and maple. They were all finished with multiple coats of mineral oil. I definitely see my skills get better the more I make.

Simple Techniques for Building Doors & Drawers

Posted in General on February 28th, 2009 by – Be the first to comment

We’re nearing the end of the road for the fall series of seminars on building a workbench. I hope you’ve all been able to take something away from these sessions. The goal was to offer you a tip or technique (or two) that you could take home to enhance your dad-to-day woodworking experience. What’s [...]

More for the cabin.

More for the cabin.

Thanks to the Lumber jack for this idea. Now I have more ideas for that pile of cedar in my yard. I will find him again and more small ideas, since I don’t have anything really good to use for anything big. A friend of mine gave me the wood and just don’t have it in me to burn it. The kleenex box is out of the pile of cedar that was given to me. I made the bread box out of pine to go with the cabinets and painted it. I know alot of you don’t like painted wood. I love it all! Give me rustic, natural, Cherry, Cedar, anything. Yes, even painted. I love it all. It’s all beautiful. I also like painting. These are both for my cabin on the river. Looking forward to seeing running water in my new kitchen this year!

My Acrylic Push Sticks & Thin Strip Ripper Guide

My Acrylic Push Sticks & Thin Strip Ripper Guide

Nothing to write home about, but I thought I’d share my acrylic pushsticks and thin strip ripper guide.
I used 4 earth magnets inset in the base of the thin strip ripper guide. They hold it in place really well.
Actually I just made these ones today (and used DaveR’s inserts he told me about to hold the handle) for my brother-lin-law who’s visiting and leaving in the morning.
So along with the Shop Made Grip-N-Rip I’m giving him he now has a set of these also.
Dam I’m a nice guy..LOL
